Scissors were found to be present in as early as 1500 BC, and most probably invented in Ancient Egypt. These scissors, however, did not look very much like the ones that we have now. It is said that scissors back then were shears that had a joint at the opposite end of the blade. It was only around 100 AS that the cross bladed scissors, from which the modern ones are similarly patterned, were invented by the Romans.
Use of Scissors
For many years we have been familiar with the use of scissors. When a school project is required, we usually cut up magazine pictures and such to beautify our work. Scissors can cut anything, provided that it is sharp enough to. It can cut materials like cardboard, foil, cloth, plastic, rope and etc. Scissors come in a variety of sizes and sharpness, and every one is designed to function for its purpose. Something as thick as a rope, for example, would require a much bigger and much sharper scissors. Childrens scissors, on the other hand, should be a lot less sharp and not very big. The shearing that happens when the two blades collide is the one that cuts.

Of course, if a scissor has already outlived its use, you can easily replace it with a new pair. Certainly, there are many websites that you can buy from, and there are just as many brands of scissors.
Most haircutting scissors are made of stainless steel, which renders them practically rust-proof. A few other models are made of platinum, which makes the more durable than their steel counterparts and invariably more expensive.
