Curtain Poles - My Life Story

I remember when I was a youngster living with my mother in a small middle terrace house in Manchester. The first thing I noticed in my bedroom was the chrome curtain pole above my bedroom window. That curtain pole was so shinny that I just wanted to climb up to it and pull it off the wall. As I lay in my bed that curtain pole glinted in the light from the window and I would spend hours just looking up at that curtain pole, quite content.

My mother told me off several times for climbing up onto the window ledge to try and get at that shinny chrome curtail pole.

As I got older I remember that the other curtain poles in the house did not have the same attraction as the curtain pole in my bedroom and I did not quite understand why.
I would wander around the house inspecting the other curtain poles. In the dining room we had a brown dull looking curtain pole that seemed to have been fitted on the same day as the house was built. In the living room we had a bronze curtain poll, which also seemed to have seen better days.

But for some reason my parents had decided to fit my bedroom with a new shinny chrome curtain poll.

As I became older the curtains in my room changed as did the decor but the curtain poll stayed the same and would shine at me as it did when I was a youngster.

Its now seems such a long time ago since I lay on my back looking up at the shinny curtain poll above the window in my room when I was a youngster.

Now that I am, adult I have the house of my own and have taken great care to select curtain polls that make an impression on my guests, as strong as the impression my bedroom curtain poll made on me. For my living room I have chosen a curtain poll made from chrome to dazzle my guests and last a lifetime. A stainless steel curtain poll takes pride of place in the dining room and in the main bedroom I have fitted the original curtain pole from my bedroom back home.

A curtain pole can say more about a person than anything else as it finishes your room and shown that you have given though to the smallest detail in your home. You selection of curtain poll directly reflects the sort of person you are. But if you choose correctly a curtain pole can increase the appeal of any room.

Help! I think I may be a curtain pole addict.
