The Housing Crisis And It's Effects Across Society

The removal company business is a precarious one, given the current housing market. The market has slowed to a virtual standstill apart from two, very diverse sections of society and, as with many business sectors these days, it will be the middle ground ones that suffer the most.

If a removal company can offer a cheap, basic service then they will appeal to those at the lower end of the housing market, the ones who have had their homes repossessed and who have no choice but to move all their belongings whether into storage or into temporary housing. Repossession rates have reached unprecedented levels and this is a very difficult time for all involved. Removal companies will here need to deal with the job in hand with more tact than ever before.

This is not a worthwhile task from a business point of view. Removal companies that offer very competitive prices and that also deal with their customers in a tactful, understanding and helpful manner will not only generate more business for themselves by recommendation now, but they will also reap rewards in the future. This is because the very nature of world economy means that although we may be currently experiencing difficult times, it will pick up again eventually. All those who had dealings with a removal company when times were hard will remember the level of service and the humanity with which they were treated and will re-visit those same companies when they are on the up again.

At the other end of the scale, we still have the stinking rich people who are continuing to rise in the stakes of home ownership, who can afford to buy up repossessions for letting to homeless people - all a little ironic but that is the nature of world finances and business. The wealthier people who use buy to let as a money earner will be in a good position to recommend removal companies to their tenants and as we all know, word of mouth is the best advertising you could possibly wish for and not something you can buy.

The wealthier people that are continuing to buy property that is ever larger will be looking for a removal company that is above and beyond basic and cheap. While still looking for competitive prices, they will also need to know they are getting a top notch service with all the added extras that they might need. This would include the possible use of temperature controlled storage facilities in the UK and possible overseas.

They will be looking for a removal company that is adept at moving priceless possessions with care and expertise, such as wine collections or art work. There is also the possibility that removal companies at the higher end of the market will be required to move possessions, homes and families overseas. This is not the easiest of processes and requires a large amount of planning. If a family know they can entrust all the arrangements and legalities to a trustworthy removal company then that business is yours.

So, we have the wealthy and the poor that are still in need of removal companies but, as I said, there is a middle ground that will suffer. The section of society that are just keeping their heads above water will be aware that the market value of their property has dropped considerably and while they can still afford their mortgages, there is no sense in selling their homes and moving. It is these people that are sitting tight and riding out the storm.
