Manchester has a population of 452 000 & has been considered a city since 1853. in a 2006 poll of british business leaders, the city was found to be the best place in great britain to locate a business. in addition to this, Manchester was the host of the 2002 commonwealth games, & has a number of other connections to sport, containing the city being home to manchester united.
Manchester rose to prominence in the nineteeth century, when it was at the heart of the industrial revolution. The city was ideal for the textile business as it was humid, as well as a worthy supply of water.
