All animals are a composition of cells. The majority of these cells move around, and the ones that have fixed positions, or sedentary, move the animal's actual body parts. Animals live by eating food.

They have a nervous and sensors system that enable them to observe what is happening about them and answer appropriately. Animals are classified into groupings based on evidential similarities and whether they are of the same kind. There are currently Thirty-five major groupings named phyla (singular phylum). Each phylum is divided into sub-groups. The least of any species of animal is the one which contains animals of just one type.

What are animals?

The kingdom were animals dwell is divided up into animals without backbones (invertebrates) which include snails and lobsters, and animals with backbones (vertebrates), such as monkeys and zebras. Invertebrates are the overwhelming majority in the animal kingdom.

There are over a million and a half species of animal have been discovered, and there are tens of thousands more yet to be identified. Animals are living breathing organisms found in nearly all of the Earth's habitats that include the depths of the oceans, the freezing Arctic, and even within other plants and animals.

Animal skeletons

The animal's skeleton works as a support model that helps maintain the animals shape allows animals to move around. The majority of skeletons in animals are hard structures, either within or out the animal's body where the muscles are attached. Animal's body, to which muscles are attached the skeleton also protects the animals internal organs and, in the case of an insect's external skeleton, which stops the animal from dying out. Skeleton found within the body is named an endoskeleton. The harder outer skeleton that features over all or some of the body is named an exoskeleton. Hydrostatic skeleton is a skeleton that is found in soft-bodied animals like earthworms and its kind.

What are nematodes?

Roundworms, or simply nematodes (phylum Nematoda), have a thin, cylindrical body that is pointed at both ends. You'll find your nematodes in many habitats and occur in very large numbers in the earth's soil. These nematodes tend to be parasites of some plants and animals.

Flatworms

Worms such as these (phylum Platyhelminthes) have a flattened body with one opening, the underside, which is where the mouth is. There are currently over eighteen thousand species including those, such as your tapeworms, that are considered parasites of human beings and other animals.

Sponges, what are they?

The simplest animals are sponges (phylum Porifera). There are about 5,000 species, the vast majority of which live in the sea attached to rocks and other objects. The water is taken in through holes, or pores, which are found in the sponge's body walls; their food is then filtered out and eaten by the sponge's cells.
