Can you have sex after a stroke? There are many people who have suffered a stroke and this is a question asked by both victims and their partners. Most stroke victims are not sure of what is going to happen to their body and therefore are uncertain as to what to expect in the future as far as their sexual relationships go. There are many elderly and younger people that can safely enjoy sex after they have had a stroke. In most cases they will be able to enjoy the same pleasures that they did before suffering a stroke.

However, it is very important to realize that sexuality is not just the act of having sexual intercourse. Whether you are a stroke victim or not, you need to feel feminine or masculine and attractive to both yourself and your partner. Give some thought to both the way that you feel as well as how how you look. Ask yourself, can you to more to make yourself feel more attractive after you have had a stroke? What are some other things you can do to make you able to enjoy yourself and your partner even more than before?

Providing that your doctor says that is ok for a person to resume "normal activity" a stroke victim should be fine to enjoy a perfectly healthy sex relationship again. In fact, there should be no physical limitations to a stroke victim having sex after a stroke. This alone should be something that will make a person feel good and better about himself or herself after such a terrible ordeal. Initially, you may have negative feelings about your body because you may not feel the same way that you once did about your looks or ambition.

In addition, you may have physical handicaps or noticeable problems with your facial expressions, but, for all practical purposes, you are still the same person. In fact, in a lot of cases you will be stronger than what you were before! Remember, you deserve to have your life back and you must be able to move on with some degree of normality in order to start living again. You will have to deal with the way that your body has changed and then figure out a way to work around those changes so that you can enjoy sex after a stroke.

Make sure that you are not only physically, but mentally prepared to take on this challenge and fight for your life to get back to normal in all the different ways. Having a healthy and exciting sex life is something that is possible even after taking a stroke. Give yourself time and I am sure that your understanding partner will wait as long as necessary to help you deal with this. All you need is s good method of support and the ability to make it happen again for you.

Here are a few simple tips to follow:

1. Make sure your body is safely supported and comfortable during sex.

2. Give plenty of time for love making, make sure you are both not tired.

3. If you experience problems with sex after a stroke, talk honestly with your partner about it.

4. Work even more on keeping yourself healthy. Lose weight, cut down on your smoking or drinking if you do either.
