How To Build Trust In Yourself With EFT

Trust is a huge issue. It is much bigger then most of us realise. Trust is the foundations upon which success, emotional well being and lasting happiness are built. Trust is also somewhat ephemeral, it is elusive and intangible. In this day and age we like to have proof of everything and we seek certainty before we enter into anything new. And this is just it, the very nature of trust dictates that we do something in the belief that it is right and will succeed. In other words trust happens before the action.

In a world where everything is regulated, insurance policies are offered for anything that might go wrong and we are prepared to sue for even the smallest mishap, trust has lost its relevance. We are lost in a jungle of never ending red tape seeking assurance before doing even the most basic things. Risk is a dirty word and trust a theoretic concept left over from the dark ages and written about by those seeing reality through rose tinted glasses.

Most of us go through life without even realising how we plan everything leaving nothing to chance. Holiday companies make sure that every single aspect of your holiday is planned and any eventuality catered for. School children are not sent outside to play during snow, in case of injury and every business person knows how health and safety regulations have been taken beyond reasonable sense, the list is long. Well, I am sure you know what I am talking about.

The problem of living in a society where we try to foresee and safeguard against every thing is that creativity and individuality get killed stone dead. We exist within a framework of predictable security. But what happened to living life with joyous expectation of new adventures? Do your children know what it means to be creative, inventing new fun games to play and, yes, trusting that venturing into the unknown will bring great rewards? Sadly for most parents the answer is no. They themselves have forgotten what trust is really all about.

Trust is the very opposite of the way in which we lead our lives today. It means embracing the future without knowing the outcome for certain and not minding about this. It means creating a vision and working towards that vision in spite of the uncertainty. It is about being totally aware and confident in the knowledge of uncertainty. When you have grasped that concept true happiness and success will be yours.

The theory sounds great, but how can we re-awaken trust in a practical way?

Like everything in life, you can learn to rekindle trust again, if you are willing. To begin with you need to broaden your mental horizons. The first step in this direction, as always, is awareness. Using a cognitive awareness technique, is the best way of becoming aware of the times when you are not trusting in a situation, a person or an outcome.

The next step is repetition. Once you have identified situations when you are lacking trust, you need to reinforce your willingness to build trust in yourself. You do this by elevating your vibrational energy levels. This is a mental process. Focusing on changing a behaviour or attitude can be very challenging. You can help yourself considerably by employing an energy technique of your choice.

One of the most effective techniques I know of is EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique. You can learn to use EFT easily and quickly. EFT focuses the mind on a specific issue, like lack of trust. Whilst you focus on the issue you simultaneously tap on a small number of meridian points on body and face. Mind focus together with the action of physical tapping is a very fast way to change your vibrational energy almost instantaneously.

One round of tapping takes about one minute. You can easily tap on an issue like trust several times per day, reminding you for instance that you want to build your ability to trust in yourself completely, under all circumstances. You will soon notice how you are becoming more aware of areas in your life where you are lacking trust. Since repeated tapping makes you feel better by raising your radiant energies you will soon notice how your mind opens up to new ways of thinking. Your increased confidence will make you more creative and inventive. You start seeing things in a new light.
