No true parent can ever declare that they are perfect. No matter how much we try, it can never be done. There is no true one formula in raising kids, it is our instincts and morals that guides us in our responsibilities in parenting. Even the most understanding mom and considerate dad make a mistake sometimes especially when it comes to raising kids. Many couples suffer from the generation gap with the kids and this is causing the problem, especially in communication.

The good thing is that kids, parents and families, and generally most people, are flexible. Well, it is acceptable that parents can't wish away the worst parenting moments, like quarreling, shouting, and yelling bouts with your kids. But with a little bit of patience in approaching your kids attention and behavior, you can turn the embarrassing situation around and everyone from the family will benefit from those said experiences and maybe learn a lesson or two.

Even parenting professionals admits that they had also committed some mistakes when it comes to their kids. Some of the couples also wish that they could have hit rewind in terms of their parental performance. But do not belittle this experiences for they are the one that could shape you to become better parents.

Nobody is perfect. Especially parenting professional who are not certainly perfect parents. But their experiences and the lessons they got from their mistakes are what they offer you. Admittedly, parenting is one of the toughest jobs in the world. It has the largest responsibility and a huge amount of patience involve.

Being a responsible parent does not necessarily mean that you will give your child toys, food and just make them happy. A good parent should know how to handle a situation well so that it will not cause a mess around the family. And most of all, a good parent can shape and mold their child into a person who can be a productive member of the community.

There are several parenting professionals who give a helping hand and advice in order to fix some of the mistakes when it comes to parent and child relationships. Some of their advices are about the emotional fault and common mistakes when talking to your kids.

Here are some of the proper ways in handling and learning from your errors. Kids often respect their parents more when they had realized that they all commit some mistakes.

• Find your temper before you lose it. Most of the parents when arguing with their kids usually losses their temper easily. Remember that in dealing with kids and teenagers you need to be an open-minded individual. You should also consider the emotions of your kids. Remember that you are the parent and you must learn how to explain the situation properly. As a parent you must appear as a cool and easy to talk with individual. It is not good for children to see us solving some of their problems in a more pressured way. Learn to deal with the problems in the easiest manner.

• Learn to talk the situation out. As a parent it is your duty to orient your children how to explain the situation they encounter. There are several problems that may arise and your child may not yet understand the situation. You should have an open communication with your child in order to teach him how to handle the situation. According to some psychologists, a child who did not experience talking with their parents experience more emotional problems. By talking to your child you can change their emotion into a more positive way. As much as possible take away the messages on sensitive topic if you don't have enough knowledge about it.

• Respecting your child's free will. There are times when your child needs to make a decision of their own, like what color of dress that they want to use, which toys they would want to play with and what food they would like for breakfast. You need to consider your child's own emotions and personality. Bear in mind that you have different characteristics compared to your kids.

Parenting is the only profession that you will learn only from your experience and when you become good at it you will pass along the skills you have learned to your kids when they themselves become parents.
