Outstanding women in the furniture industry will be recognized one gain for their contribution to the industry. Women in the Home Industries Today or WithIt announced that they are accepting nominations for the WOW Awards. The said award will be presented to the winners at the forthcoming education conference of WithIt at the Renaissance Charlotte Suites Hotel in Charlotte.
According to the organization, retailers, suppliers, manufacturers, and other professionals in the field of home industries are welcome to submit their nominees for consideration. The deserving individuals will receive their award on the 13th of August this year.
The organization's goal is to support women in the industry. The organization started in 1997 and from then on, it has been championing the cause of women in the industry. Part of its commitment to support women in the industry is the WOW awards.
Clearly, the winners of the said awards will be those who have done much to help the industry. WithIt is also looking for women who have been in the industry for at least five years.
There will be four categories for the WOW awards. The first is the Legacy Award which will be given to the nominee who has given a lot to the home furnishing industry in the course of her lifetime.
The second category for the WOW awards is the Mentoring Award. Said award will be given to the person, usually executives who have made it their personal goal to support women in the workplace. This award is usually given to high ranking officials in a company since they are in a position to help women in the industry.
The third category is the Education Award which will be given to the nominee who has done the most towards educating their retailers and other similar affiliates on home furnishings.
The fourth category is the Future Leadership Award. This award will be handed out to a member of the industry aged below 40. Said person should show the potential to become a good leader in the industry in the near future. Present accomplishments of the nominees for this category will be taken into consideration.
All nominations for the four categories should be submitted to WithIt before March 11 this year. It is only fitting that women should be recognized for their contributions to the industry. After all, they do not only focus creating Valentines gift for men. Nominees for the aforementioned awards may not be members of WithIt.
