Having the drive, commitment, and rah rah energy to succeed in internet marketing are certainly good characteristics to get started in internet marketing. Having a website filled with content and useful information for your visitors, free reports and how-to email courses are great customer base builders. However, if you don't know how to drive traffic to your website, all of these things will have been wasted.

The affiliate market world is competition heavy. The only way you can succeed is by pushing yourself to the forefront and that is done by driving traffic to your site. There are seven tried and true methods that you should employ to get that traffic, get those visitors, and propel your business to the top of the affiliate marketing world.

One: Search Engine Rankings
Search engines are popular for getting free targeted traffic. To gain good ranking you must use keyword rich titles and content on your site. Once you gain first page ranking in the big search engines for your content you will get traffic flowing to your site on a daily basis, completely free of charge.

Two: Link Exchange Partnership
There are others out there just like you wanting to increase their rankings through back links on complementary websites for the target market. Seek out sites with a good page rank. Offer to exchange links for mutual benefit. If the site is of a better rank than yours, offer more back links for their site in exchange for a certain number for you on their site.

Three: Article Marketing
Writing content for your site creates value for your site. But marketing that same article by submitting it to article directories and offering to others for free publication - with a link back to your website or squeeze page - increases the value greatly in traffic. People elsewhere will read your article and come visit to see what more you have to offer.

Four: Joint Ventures
Find a partner through an ad exchange or email list promotion exchange. You can reach their customer base while they reach yours. If their list has more subscribers you can simply offer to promote their product more often.

Offer them new products and services as you have something of value to present. They benefit from your help and expertise and you gain traffic and sales.

Seven: Cater to Your Market
To create a solid customer base you must know your market and deliver what they seek. Keep tabs on what's new and make sure you offer it to your audience. Provide information of value, present bonus products and services that will entice them to purchase through you. This is key to gaining return customers.

Generating traffic and establishing long-term relationships with your customers based on value and sincere interest can be easily gained through these seven tips and techniques. Use them to build your business day after day and you will climb to the top of your market.
