Today there are many places that one can visit in the UK, which can be just as exciting as if you were to jet off to another country. Certainly, you will find that Chester attractions allow you the chance to discover more about the history of the country where you live.

In fact what you will soon discover when you start carrying out more research on Chester that there is plenty for everyone to do, no matter their age. When you do go to Chester, you will be able to delve back into the history of the city relating to Roman times along with medieval times as well.

But you do not have to restrict yourself to spending time in the city alone, as there are plenty of places and attractions that you can visit. Below we take a look at just some of the kinds of attractions available to those visiting Chester in the future.

If you want, why not participate in one of the many ghost hunting walks that take place in the evenings. These can be somewhat thrilling and you will be able to spend time in what is considered to be one of England s most haunted cities.

However, if you want to keep the children amused there are plenty of activities that they can participate in. Close to Chester, there are Cheshire Farms where they will be able watch a falconry display or pet the animals (including Llamas). Plus they will also get a chance to try some superb homemade ice cream as well.

Should you want to just some time in quiet contemplation and enjoy a pleasant stroll then take a visit to Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Here you will find over 500 acres of some of the most breathtaking scenery you are likely to see anywhere in England today. Plus why not spend some time in the rose and rare flower gardens as well.

If however you want to learn more about the history of Chester then a walk round its city walls is perfect. As you walk along the two miles of walls, surrounding the city, you will be offered some great views of it down below. Plus during this walk, you will get a much better insight into this city s long and varied history.

One of the final Chester attractions, which should not be missed during your visit to the city especially with children, is Chester Zoo. This is the largest of all the zoo s to be found in the UK today and has the largest colony of chimpanzee s that is to be found in Europe. Plus there are another 7,000 animals that you and your children will want to see so you may need to spend a whole day exploring the zoo to fully appreciate what it has to offer.

There is plenty of accommodation available in and around Chester. Whether you want to stay inside the historic city walls, further out in town or in a nearby village, there s a wealth of accommodation that you can choose from.
